It's also a very quick read imo and the entire thing is complete and free to read online on :D Starts dating his teammate after a while and it's a very cute comic. Omg Check Please, baker and hockey player learns to balance school, baking, and hockey in University. And if comics aren't your thing, there's still the book that it's (kind of) based on called Nick and Charlie.

Heartstopper, also takes place in UK and it's the high school life of two guys, and I don't really know how to explain the plot anymore without it sounding boring, but this is honestly one of my favourite pieces of media of all time. Story even continues after their graduation. Tripping Over You, takes place in UK, a closeted guy in High School starts dating his friend and slowly tries to open up. The first couple pages might put you off, bit just bear with it, it does get a lot better. Highly recommended since not only is it done, but I still reread it every now and then. A lot of angst with good plot progression and payoff. Cute gay couple being dads basically./ (Prequel) Itsuka Koi No Naru Made, this one's a bit smuttier but focuses on their high school life and how they ended up being together.Īlways Raining Here, a very good high school story of 2 guys who start dating. After the girl got a baby, she wanted to focus on her career on being a war front line reporter and asked the two to raise her baby for her. Let's be a Family!! 2 guys (who are already in a relationship) and 1 girl grew up together. Pretty nice story of 2 people going around Japan learning more about each other through the movies they've watched together.

Kimi wa Natsu no Naka, guy asks his crush/best friend if he would do a "movie locations" tour. Seven Days, guy jokingly asks a dude who does seven day relationships with anyone who asks him and they actually start dating to see what it's like. The dude is really dumb and it's more of a light-hearted high school romcom. Sasaki to Miyano, "straight" (self-proclaimed) fudanshi Miyano can't really tell if his feelings towards Sasaki is love or admiration, even if the latter likes the former.ĭasadanan, a guy and a girl like the same dude. I quoted "straight" because they're assumed to be the author's endgame couple, but the story hasn't gotten to the part where the straight guy is unsure of his feelings. Koimonogatari, Super slow burn, "straight" (at the current chapter) guy helps gay friend deal with rejection and liking someone who'll never like him back. Explores a lot about disability and gay relationships at the same time. Leads to a lot of inferiority complex stuff regarding his disability. I Hear the Sunspot, guy starts losing his hearing and starts dating someone who wants to help him.

There's also the movie that's out right now that you can find on Tumblr here: The Stranger by the Beach, guy dealing with homophobic family runs away and meets another guy when he noticed him looking out the ocean every day (Sequel) Harukaze no Etranger, their life after meeting. Personal favourite, 10/10 also has an anime adaptation of you want to watch it instead.

Has some heavy angst with good payoff though. Stuff like Given, Stranger By The Beach, and Yuri on Ice are basically the best of the best imo. I'm also recommending quite a few manga and web comics because there just sadly aren't that many gay animes that are good. But I remember them being really good so they're still on here. Some of these don't have a description, but that's because I haven't read them in a while and kind of forgot what they're about. It's just that some moments may have a bit of angst, but it's mostly cute stuff. Some of these might have angst, but the romance is never angsty.
